FAQs

  • Can I place a banner on the stone monument signs as you enter Old Town Orcutt?

There are four monument entrance signs at the four access roads into Old Town Orcutt. Occasionally you will see banners hung above a sign. Non-profit civic organizations may install a banner on these monument signs with prior approval to advertise their community event being held in Old Town Orcutt. To see if you can get on the banner schedule, please contact the OTORA President, Steve Strachan, at 805-878-9509.

  • What is the difference between OTORA and OOMA?

The Old Town Orcutt Revitalization Association (OTORA) focuses on preserving and improving the community by advocating for infrastructure, beautification, and planning efforts that enhance the town’s charm and walkability. In contrast, the Old Orcutt Merchants Association (OOMA) primarily supports local businesses by promoting economic growth, organizing events, and fostering a strong business community. While OTORA works on long-term revitalization, OOMA focuses on the success and visibility of local merchants. Both organizations work together!

  • Is OTORA affiliated with Santa Barbara County?

We collaborate with Santa Barbara County to enhance infrastructure, preserve historic charm, and support smart growth. While we advocate for community-driven improvements, the county oversees regulations and project approvals, ensuring that revitalization efforts align with county policies and benefit residents and businesses alike. OTORA makes a great sounding board for projects occurring in Old Town Orcutt and we love to help where we can.
